Founded in 2016 by Han Ates, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers makes its denim at an atelier on Blackhorse Lane in Walthamstow, East London, where it employs and trains local machinists. The brand works with selvedge denim from Italy and Japan along with organic cotton, and it describes its selvedge jeans as the first produced in London in over 50 years. It offers a lifetime repair policy, made-to-measure tailoring, and an R&D wash lab, and its team grows Japanese indigo at a local allotment.
