Kibata Denim
Kibata is a Seoul label launched in 2024 by director Choi Dong-min, reinterpreting Japanese sashiko and kasuri through hand processes such as persimmon-tannin (kakishibu) dyeing. Its first original fabric, Kashiko, combines kasuri yarn with sashiko construction. Its denim pants are cut from selvedge woven in Japan, including a 14oz Zimbabwe Greencast denim of long-staple Zimbabwe cotton and a 12oz Kasezome denim, double rope-dyed to imitate skein dyeing.
