Old Joe Brand Denim

Old Joe was started in 2008 by designer Yusuke Takagi and sign painter NUTS ART WORKS (Naoto Hinai), with Takagi handling clothing and store design and NUTS providing graphics. The brand works from the principle of “respect for heritage and evolution, fidelity and originality,” aiming for pieces perfected through the passage of time. It develops fabrics from scratch, such as a Japanese melton recreating a 1910s naval overcoat cloth, and denim chosen for the vivid shades it shows with wear. Old Joe runs stores in Shibuya, Tokyo, and Kanazawa, Ishikawa.
