Sassafras Denim
Sassafras was founded in 2004 by Takashi Takagi, a keen gardener, and began with a collection of ten pieces. The brand builds its clothing around gardening, adapting vintage workwear and military references for work in the garden, with designs meant to be functional, comfortable, and heavy-duty, with big pockets. Its fabrics include 8oz Japanese denim, nine-wale corduroy, melton wool, and flannel. Sassafras is known for its gardening-themed garments and their names, which draw on a fictional gardener, Steve Gossard, who makes his own clothes.
