About NEEDBY VINTAGE

NEEDBY VINTAGE launched in spring 2023 as NEEDBY heritage, a Japanese denim brand founded by Tsuyoshi Kikushima, who previously led sales and product development at True Religion, Red Card, and Rag & Bone, to preserve and pass on the techniques of Japan’s denim industry. It operates from Okayama Prefecture and oversees its process from spinning through fabric production and sewing, using its own fabric with an open-end yarn weft to shape how the denim fades. The brand is known for chemical-free stone washing and its i-Next indigo dyeing method, which it says cuts chemical use by about 60% and water use by about 40%.
