About Plest
Founded in 2009 by Shintaro Shimizu, Plest began as a leather-focused label and works from a studio in Nakameguro, Tokyo, that serves as an atelier, shop, and office. Shimizu runs it as a one-man operation, making leather goods, silver jewellery, and original apparel, and handles design, patterning, cutting, sewing, and finishing himself. His 101 jeans are cut from Japanese selvedge denim woven in Okayama and sewn on a single-needle machine, with each side stitched by hand for a vintage look.
